If you submit a contest to 3 different calculators within the same company, you will get 3 different prizes.

At least, if these work with an Excel and/or their own interpretation.

But not if you make it a robust digital process.

Then the output is the same.

Step into the customer’s shoes for a moment.

Suppose one calculator is usually the cheapest.

What would be the impact on that one employee’s schedule?

Or suppose that an almost identical product continuously varies in price upon request.

What impact would that have on your trust in your supplier? How much more discussion will that generate?

The point is:

Digitization is always worthwhile if you cannot trust the differences in the outcome.

If a process is important for customer trust, or has a direct impact on margins, it is worth creating such a digital process.
